We Added A Few Sexy Sites

December 3, 2007 by GoldenApples Project

flower.jpgOn the side. A taste of real worth. Great examples of the free and quality information given freely to you, some of the Sexy Sites can help educated you (if you want) or you could detract into entertainment along with a feeble, unsexy mind.

Granted that, unlike the mostly junk on del.icio.us, stumbleupon, and other such senseless, time-wasting, trifling sites (why in the world do they have so many?), those rare golden apples are dearly challenging to come by.

Can people stop producing overwhelming crap? Like wordpress blogs with crap diffused everywhere; instead, why don’t you? Go and create new innovative technologies as wordpress did or write an informative masterpiece based on years of dedicated research. Spend the next 5+ years on something great – not daily stupidity – because before you know it, that year would be gone.

Few things are created equal. Put in the Effort. Ask yourself: How can I be better than what I am? What can I do? What will I bring to tomorrow (the next 5+ years)?

[Editor's note (12/31/07): responses to educate viewers are within brackets; they are not directed towards the commenter, but to the general masses]

Hello, there. I generally appreciate the style and attitude of this blog. So, thank you!
I must say, given all of the amazing [like?] websites out there [where? since we've been around (why do you think we hate crap - because we seen so much of it)], I am somewhat amused [we are not amused by crap] by the choices [which ones?] on your list [they are amazing!]. There seems to be some bias [of course, bias for quality], which is only natural [natural? on what scientific basis; it's "natural" that sites selected are "naturally" sexy]. The one that stands out the most to me, is The World Bank [answered below]. This is coming from a student of both economics and international affairs/development, so I can see the logic [what logic? you don't even know how rigorous the process was]. However, if I were to look at some of the best websites [you've shown you cannot decipher worthy websites] out there, I don’t know if I would put them [any well-reasoned explanation? Like intelligent theories? based on a rigorous process? or a mere opinion?] on there.
Can I suggest [anyone can suggest] scidev.net [it's "fine" so it didn't make it], your have probably heard of it, but if not, I hope you enjoy [we didn't for the points stated below]!

Thanks for the great links. I definitely agree [your decisions aren't reliable - like a child's who's mind is yet to be fully developed as biological studies have shown] with the opencourseware and the TED link.

    1) It’s _not_ a blog! http://goldenapples.wordpress.com/research-development/
    2) The list is highly incomplete and will be updated over time. Help? We tried to diversify it but obviously cannot do so to a large extent as we didn’t wish to overwhelm the overly passive, lethargic viewers, as different from doers.
    3) We are well-aware of the perceived corruption and controversy surrounding The World Bank and given that it is an influential and important entity, these are part of the reasons why it is there.
    4) What unnecessary bias do you see that should be changed? We will without a doubt be happy to reconsider anything. The paramount biases/preferences/viewpoints is in favor of quality – not crap – those that brings us closer to our mission: http://goldenapples.wordpress.com/about/
    5) Yes, we heard of it. The Science and Development Network appears to merit worth. It is added. Thank you.
[Edit from the Chief Editor for GoldenApples: I am bewildered as to why you are "somewhat amused." Every single one of the selection is merited. I have removed scidev.net as it has absolutely nothing to do with our mission; in fact, it would cause confusion with all that unorganized, scattered news clippings. I don't know who added but she/he shouldn't have.]
    6) If there are comments regarding the site, see http://goldenapples.wordpress.com/about/contact/
